Born in London and raised on the Isle of Wight UK, Jack began drumming in his middle school years playing in the school orchestra and studying under professional drummers and teachers Jack Richards and Terry Dickinson. 

 

Through high school he began performing in local venues on a weekly basis, this soon developed into more regular work in a busy function band. Returning to London Jack went on to study Popular Music at Thames Valley University. While there he gained more live experience as a bass player performing at renowned venues including The National Theater and 93 Feet East among others.

 

As a drummer and guitarist Jack has worked with international artists and performed events for Level 42, Jools Holland, The Bees, Roy Ayers, New Master Sounds and Simply Red.

 

On the Isle of Wight he was a co founder and drummer of afrobeat and dance band ‘Fellowship of Groove’ as well as initiating the community music project A.I.M.M. at the award winning Ryde Aspire. He is an experienced composer and songwriter, writing for local popular band ‘The Chancers’ with his music featured in UK comedy film ‘The Limelight’ released in 2012.

 

Venues Jack has performed at include The Isle of Wight Festival, The Bestival, Ryde Theatre, Notting Hill Carnival, Oxford’s Bossophonic, The Church of Empowerment London, The Lincoln Center NYC, Joe’s Pub NYC, Bowery Electric NYC and many more. 

 

Jack has been teaching drums and music in schools and privately since 2006. 

 

In 2015 Jack and his wife moved to Brooklyn where he continues to work as a music practitioner. His most recent work includes developing curriculum and teaching in NY public schools as well as leading and teaching ensembles of musicians age 7 to adult.
