The Motown Mondays was started across the Atlantic in 2018 in Brooklyn, NY. Fulfilling an interest in the local adult community for a class such as this, Jack Henson began and built the programme into a successful Community Music Class. Returning to the UK and maintaining NYC connections, the programme is now available to people living in the South East of the UK.

 

From Marvin Gaye to Stevie Wonder to The Temptations, Martha and the Vandellas (to name only a few), the Motown labels have been a starting ground for many prolific artists of our times. This adult music programme is a chance to meet and learn with like minded musicians and music lovers. Having fun celebrating the music of Motown and digging deep into the vast repertoire is what this weekly session is all about.

This class is not for complete beginners but maybe you have that old trumpet or guitar gathering dust in the corner and now is the time to get back on the horse and nurture that spark again. Being part of a large network of fantastic musicians and teachers means we can connect with quality private instruction if thats what you're after to get a kick start.

The songs can be learned in their simplest forms to begin with and developed as the weeks progress. The emphasis is always on the collective sound made by the group.
